Race Review: Frank Llyod Wright Races 10k

Race Review: Frank Llyod Wright Races 10k

Closing out 2023 with an overdue race review and a commitment to run better and write more in 2024!

The Frank Lloyd Wright Races were not included in my list of must-do Chicago races published at the end of 2019.  This was because, although I saw the FLW races to be a popular event highlighting Chicago history, it takes place in the Chicago suburb of Oak Park, Illinois.

Race Review: Run Mag Mile

Race Review: Run Mag Mile

This race was included on my list of must-do Chicago races in late 2019, although I had yet to run it. With Shamrock Shuffle which opens the Chicago race season in March, it serves as as a bookend to the season in November. Read more

We ran the 10k at the 20th Annual Ricky Birdsong Memorial Race Against Hate on Father’s Day. There were also 5k and Youth Mile and Half Mile races. Ricky Birdsong  was the men’s basketball coach for Northwestern, who, just about 20 years, ago was murdered by a white supremacist.  His killer went on a rampage that Independence Day weekend in 1999 that left 7 wounded and another dead.
