“Life is a Marathon” Training Program

Finishing a marathon is a worthy accomplishment, however the real benefits of running a marathon are what can be achieved during training and after you’ve found a place to hang your finishers medal. These benefits can have a profound effect on how you approach goal setting and what you’re able to accomplish for the rest of your life. TheCauseCoach wants you to reap the benefits too, so Mary has taken her certification as a running coach to a new level and added life coaching. “I train ordinary people to finish their first marathon as a means of kick-starting the journey to bigger goals.”

Contact Mary to discuss your goals and starting point so a customized training plan can be designed for you. Or schedule a 30-minute, free, no obligation call to discuss your goals today.

Athlete Coaching

Whether you are looking to get fitter, faster, or accomplish a life-altering long-distance goal, running is the sport and a dedicated, personal coach can make all the difference. Mary G. Connolly – The Cause Coach – has been a recreational competitive runner for over 20 years, completing 7 marathons, 40 half marathons, and more than 270 races in total. She became Certified by Road Runners Club of America (RRCA) and Registered with USA Track & Field (USATF) as a Running Coach in 2016. She coaches runners of all ages, both individually and in groups.

As a trained Co-Active Coach, with a focus on being as well as doing, Mary brings a unique perspective to coaching runners. She coaches the whole athlete, who you are beyond running, and takes into account what is important to you about being a runner and accomplishing both running and life goals.

Life Coaching

Anyone in transition could benefit greatly from coaching. Change in family situation? Newly engaged, married, divorced or widowed? New parent or empty nester? Recent college graduate? New Job? Newly retired? Planning a move? Or perhaps feeling stuck?

Make the most of the inevitable changes in your life so you come out living your best life possible. We will pinpoint objectives, clarify values, and evoke a transformative journey.

Mary helped me focus, identify the real issues and come up with my own solutions. It’s as if you’re looking in the mirror with Mary standing by your side, encouraging you to change your stance: a little to the left, tilt a bit, turn completely around. I always feel a new energy when Mary and I finish our sessions.  – C., Client

For Organizations

Business Leaders and Teams

“The real reason I ran, and why most of the runners I know got out there too, is because that’s the way we are. We’re training to reach a goal. And to achieve success, the work has to be done. We know there are no excuses, no short cuts. So we run when it snows. And when it rains and when it’s hot or cold or just right. And this is why runners usually make good employees. Runners do the work. Runners make sacrifices. They don’t make excuses. Runners have determination, focus, and discipline. And for the runners I know, that carries over to our professional lives as well.” – from the Cause Coach Blog
