I did some experimenting with a podcast last month. They’ve been deleted, but please subscribe for what’s to come. Find me on Spotify and Apple Podcasts. If you get your podcasts elsewhere, let me know.
I’ve also been trying to figure out where to go with theCauseCoach and this blog. This is only my 15th post this year, compared to an average of 50 per year 2016-20. It was my goal to focus on quality over quantity this year, but I’m not sure that’s really what happened. More than anything I just got out of the habit of writing.
What I truly miss is the creative outlet, but I want my creativity to have purpose; to be part of a greater good somehow. So while I’ve had sometime to think over the holiday break, I keep coming back to this podcast idea. Especially after being a guest on my friend Jaclyn’s podcast, Actually, You are a Real Runner back in October. So fun! Give it a listen HERE.
Someone asked this question recently: what could you speak about for 30 minutes without any preparation? I have two answers: Running and Fundraising. Or maybe a third if you count Running AND Fundraising. In managing the Chicago Area Runners Association charity team, I realize that running AND fundraising collectively is my passion – and what I’m really good at!
I have, to some degree already been helping coaching clients develop a balance between life and being a runner in training, while also working hard to reach fundraising goals. I have myself raised about $100,000 for a variety of causes, so I have a lot of tips, tricks, and proven best practices to share.
So that’s what theCauseCoach podcast is going to be all about.
Objectives:
- promote charity running and best fundraising practices for charity runners
- highlight various charity teams and causes raising money through running events
- share information on training, nutrition, injury prevention, etc.
- go beyond my own experiences and opinions by including a wealth of experts in the field including charity team coordinators, coaches, race directors, running retailers, and other running personalities
So, again, please subscribe and be on the lookout for full length podcasts starting in January. If you would like to learn more, or you or someone you know would like to be a guest, please message me.
Thank you for your support. Wishing you a very happy and healthy 2022.
