Podcast S1 | E5: Emma Walsh, Team Chicago Commons is Family

My guest today is Emma Walsh, Development Manager and marathon fundraising team coordinator for Chicago Commons. Join us as she discusses the impact this 128 year old organization is having in Chicago and how their marathon fundraising team is assisting in funding those efforts. With program sites in Bronzeville, Pilsen, Humboldt Park, and Back of the Yards, Chicago Commons offers support to many of Chicago’s under-resourced neighborhoods.

Chicago Commons provides educational resources from Early Head Start programs through Senior Care, and their programs “work together to create opportunities and move children and families toward educational success, economic security, and health and well-being.” Charity runners with their team will get many opportunities to engage with the mission and be fully supported by the Development team.

Emma talks about the perks of being a member of Team Chicago Commons (the best of which is being welcomed as a member of the Chicago Commons Family!), successful charity running and team management, how to secure a spot on Team Chicago Commons, and her own first-time marathon experience.
